Christmas Event

On Friday, 15 November 2024, the Thun Christmas tree will shine in a sea of lights at 7.00 pm. At the same time, the entire Thun Christmas lighting will be officially switched on. This prelude to the Christmas season will take place with live music and an official inauguration ceremony with the city president Raphael Lanz and the president of THUNcity, Alain Marti, on Thun's town hall square. Enjoy cheese sandwiches, mulled wine and a good atmosphere!

Programme:

• from 6.45 pm Glühwein, drinks and open-air food
• 7 pm Countdown
  Switching on the Christmas tree together
  Countdown and switch-on by Raphael Lanz, City President and Alain Marti, President THUNcity.
• from 7.15 pm Live-Music
• Lots of candlelight and little event technology
• Open-air gastronomy, soup, currywurst, chilli con carne, mulled wine and drinks on the Rathausplatz Thun with: Hotel Krone, Ratsstübli, Simplyfine, Atelier Classic Bar and Matts Hüsi

The event is free of charge and open to all.

Decorate Christmas tree
In 2024, the Christmas tree will be decorated by Margrit Bieri, owner of Schlossgarten kreative Floristik GmbH at Untere Hauptgasse 4. What could be more exciting than decorating the Christmas tree in the centre of Thun's old town. I am very much looking forward to making this year's Christmas tree shine. It should be a matter of the heart for everyone to see, says Margrit Bieri, who is looking forward to carrying out this assignment.
